Before treatment, you should understand the expected cost, how your insurance may contribute and what you will need to pay. Our team can help you work through those details and discuss payment arrangements before your visit.
For private insurance, our usual process is payment at your appointment. We submit your claim electronically, and your insurer sends any eligible reimbursement directly to you.
Coverage belongs to your individual plan. A treatment recommendation and an insurance benefit are different things; we will help you understand both before you decide.
Bring your insurer’s name, plan number and member ID. Tell us if your employer, coverage or policy information has changed.
Your plan may have a deductible, an annual maximum, limits on how often a service is covered or a percentage that you pay yourself.
Your insurer assesses the submitted claim under your plan. The amount paid and processing time depend on your coverage and the claim.

Holistic Smiles sets its own fees rather than following the standard Canadian dental fee guide. Ask us for an estimate so you can review the recommended treatment, anticipated charges and possible insurance contribution.
For planned treatment, ask about a benefits review or pre-treatment estimate. Your insurer may need procedure details before it can indicate what your plan may pay.
Certain plans or services require information or approval in advance. Let us know if your insurer has asked for an estimate before you proceed.
An estimate helps with planning, but it is not a guarantee of reimbursement. Your insurer decides the final benefit using your coverage and remaining limits when the claim is assessed.
Ask us to review any part of the estimate that is unclear, including costs that may fall outside your plan.
If cost is a concern, tell us before your appointment. We can review the estimate and explain the arrangements available for your circumstances.

Provincial benefits vary by program. Contact the Government of Alberta for current eligibility and benefit information, then bring your program details so we can discuss your visit and any coordination needed.
Your adjusted family net income determines the CDCP co-payment. These percentages apply to eligible services at the CDCP’s established fees.
Private insurance percentages depend on your own policy. Ask your insurer about its reimbursement rates, deductibles and remaining benefits.

No. For covered CDCP services, Sun Life pays the provider directly. You do not pay the full covered fee and then seek reimbursement yourself. You may still owe co-payments or charges outside the plan. See our dedicated CDCP page for more information.
